Mr Oliver Chan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery, based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he is lead foot and ankle surgeon at the West Middlesex site.
He trained at University College London before completing his higher orthopaedic training in the Kent, Surrey & Sussex deanery, attaining his CCT in 2020. He went on to undertake two prestigious fellowships in foot and ankle surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and King’s College Hospital, gaining expertise in elective foot and ankle surgery, complex trauma, and diabetic foot pathology, followed by further specialist training in minimally invasive techniques.
Since his appointment as Consultant in 2021, Mr Chan has played a key role in developing foot and ankle and wider orthopaedic services at the Trust, including implementing a Virtual Fracture Clinic service and leading on blood clot prevention pathways.
He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, holds two higher research degrees, and takes an evidence-based approach to patient care. He is also passionate about medical education, holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and teaching at UCL and King’s College medical schools.
Mr Chan is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Society, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
